I PLAN THREE DAYS A WEEK MEETING AT RENO t. ........... .----..,---..4 SAN BRUNO, Calif., April 13. An interesting visitor at Tanforan, Wednesday, was J. K. Houssels, outstanding western sportsman who recently conducted a fairly successful meeting at Phoenix. It was Houssels second venture at promotion, he having conducted a non-profitable session at the Arizona capitol city last year. Encouraged by the success of Phoenix, the Las Vegas sportsman plans to branch out and conduct a twenty-five-day session at Reno, Nev., during the coming summer. Houssels visited at Reno a few days ago and during his stay took part in the formation of the racing association that will conduct the Nevada session. Houssels was elected president, Frank Calloway, prominent Reno citizen, vice-president, and Senator Robbins, of Elko, Nev., secretary-treasurer. The meeting will get under way July 14 and the sport will be held three days a week, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, which will prolong it until after Labor Day. It is also the intention of Houssels to hold short meetings at Las Vegas, Nev., and Elko, Nev., in the near future. Houssels visited Tanforan in company with Mrs. Houssels and, following a few days of the sport, will return to Las Vegas, where he has various interests, including a small breeding ranch.
