DERBY CANDIDATES IN TRIAL No Competition, Timeful and Sir Marlboro in Trial Handicap. Derby Horses Opposing Two Non-Eligibles in the Chief Event on Todays Keeneland Program. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 13 Five three-year-olds, three of which are Kentucky Derby eligibles were named for the Trial Handicap to be offered as the feature attraction at Keeneland tomorrow. The Trial brought Menow under colors here last spring and its decision resulted in an easy triumph for the Hal Price Headley colorbearer. No Competition, one of seven three-year-olds Mrs. Ethel V. Mars, made eligible to the Kentucky Derby, is asked to pick up the top weight of 118 pounds. He showed little in his only start this year, but since that Hot Springs effi A. he has turned in several brilliant trials. Trainer Roy Waldron has intimated that No Competition will be the chief reliance of the Milky Way Farm stable for Derby honors. Timeful, hope of Theodore E. Mueller, former racing commissioner, who races under the nom-de-course of Shady Brook Farm, and Sir Marlboro Conn Smythes good three-year-old, are the other Derby candidates. Only Timeful is eligible to the Blue Grass Stakes to be renewed here on the closing day of the meeting. Flying Lill, speedy daughter of Flying Heels, and Cha "es H. Clearys Kentucky Oaks candidate, and Cherry Jam, which was withdrawn from todays Phoenix Handicap, complete the field for the six furlongs dash. Cherry Jam will pack 116 pounds and then follows Flying Lill under 112 pounds. Six well balanced races, two of which are for two-year-olds, support the feature. With the weather moderating today and the track nearing its best condition, a good sized crowd is expected for the second days sport.
