j TANF0RAN TURF NOTES s s Trainer Roy Selden reports that he has fired the knees of Patrolite and the mare will be rested up for the Hollywood Park meeting. R. Fisher has fired the ankles of the five-year-old gelding Cloudy Weather and will rest the horse for several weeks. Starter Eddie Thomas has placed the following bad actors on the schooling list: Cross Sign, Suffern, Anopheles, Grey Nurse, Smoky Snyder and Colonel Bret. Schoolmom, Epitome and Playback have been approved by the stewards. Jockey J. W. Bailey suffered cuts and bruises when he was thrown from a two-year-old during the morning workouts on Thursday. Bailey will be absent from the saddle for a few days. Jockey Warren Van Tassel has severed his connections with the R. W. Selden stable. Van Tassel will depart for Narragansett Park Saturday, April 15, where he will ride free lance. Jockey J. Westrope received a wire from Townsend B. Martin requesting him to report at Pimlico to ride Cravat in the Dixie Handicap and also to ride a horse for him in the Suburban at Belmont Park. Westrope plans on flying to the East Coast and will depart about the first of May. Tanforan has one of those rare sights seen on a race course, that of a father and daughter racing the same day. Dalfence is the three-year-old daughter of Fence Rider.
