TROPICAL PARK STATISTICS Distribute 20,250 at the Highly Successful Spring Meeting. Teddy Weed Earns ,950 in Capturing Tropical Handicap Percentage of Winning Favorites at Meeting Below Normal. The highly successful spring meeting of the Gables Racing Association at Tropical Park helped set a new record for mutuels play when 3,049,080 was handled during the fifty-one days of racing of the 1938-39 season. During the thirty-one days of racing at the spring meeting, a total of 20,250 was dis-I tributed among the horsemen. Two hundred and forty-eight races were run, making the daily average distribution ,104.84. The Tomara Stable led the list of money winning owners, the horses in that establishment winning 0,125 of which ,950 was won by Teddy Weed in the Tropical Handicap. The Snow White Stable sent nine winners out during the meeting and won ,580 to finish in second place. Teddy Weed won both of his engagements at the meeting and finished the leader of the money winning horses in earning ,250. His closest rival was Charmed One, which was undefeated in four appearances to win ,500. Jockey J. Ashcroft was the leading rider of the meeting with forty-four winning mounts. The apprentice C. Charlton was astride thirty-three winners, which was ten more than his young rival, Euclid LeBlanc was able to boot home on top.
