SUSPECT SABOTAGE PLOT ON HURON-SUPERIOR CANAL SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont, April 22. A sabotage plot aimed at the ship canal connecting Lake Huron with Lake Superior was suspected today after fifty pounds of dynamite was found cached in an abandoned shed. Police guards were posted at the canal, the international bridge leading to the American Soo and the plant of the Great Lakes Power Company. The cache was 1,000 yards from the power plant and 400 feet from the international bridge. Mayor Jack McKeeken urged all residents to aid police by reporting any suspicious characters. On the American side the U. S. Border Patrol stationed at the bridge at all times announced no special precautions were taken.
