BEL ESPOIR moved up fast on the inside and, taking command on the upper turn, drew clear rapidly tired in the final stages, but withstood LILLIAN ROTH. The latter, forced to lose ground early, was taken to the nside for the drive, went to the outside of the winner in the last stages and was fast wearing him down. INTRIP, rushed to the front, drew clear after five-sixteenths, gave way when the winner challenged, but held on well. HAZEL NUT had no mishaps. SOUND WAVE was outrun.
