1 KEENELAND TURF NOTES 8 Jockey Charles McTague arrived Saturday morning from Toronto and reported to trainer W. E. Coburn who has the Conn Smythe horses stabled here and at the trotting track. The seven-year-old horse, Jim John, succumbed this morning to pneumonia. Jim John was a son of Pennant and raced for Mrs. A. Leiderman. Glen Fowler left Saturday for Louisville to report to trainer J. T. Weaver who moved the W. E. Smith horses to Churchill Downs several days ago. Conn Smythe, who has eight horses here in chai-ge of W. E. Coburn, was an arrival Saturday morning from his home in Canada. Smythes colors were represented in the program Saturday by Skating Fool and Sir Marlboro. Bryan Steele, who will serve as starter.at Detroit, arrived from Miami and after a visit here with his family, will proceed to the. Motor City.
