BRADLEY-BRED PAIR ARRIVES FOR RICH FUTURITY a V t Bimelech and Boy Angler Both Unbeaten in Two Appearances Arlington?s Juvenile Fixture Will Gross 1,830 Satur day if Fourteen Start Quality of Starters and Intersectional Flavor Add Interest to Race w ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., July 27. Edward Riley Bradley, only man to win four Kentucky Derbys, shipped Bimelech, hailed by many as the ranking two-year-old in the East, to Arlington Park today, to race in the rich Arlington Futurity here on closing day, Saturday. Accompanying the Bradley colt was Mrs. Charles P. Sheldons Boy Angler, which will run coupled in an entry saddled by the veteran trainer, Alex Gordon. Both Bradley-bred colts, each unbeaten in two starts, unloaded at the North-side track at 10:50 oclock this morning in excellent condition. Boy Angler was bedded down in the same stall as was occupied by Challedon the Classic winner last week-end. "They shipped here in top-top shape " said Alex Gordon, who came out from New York with the colts. "They will be blown out in a light gallop tomorrowthats all the work they need." Bimelech and Boy Angler likely may be favorites in a field of probably fourteen, which are to try for the richest race for juveniles of the season to date. If fourteen start, a large field for this Arlington race, the prize will gross 1,830, and will net the winner 7,735. FINAL FEATURE. The Arlington Futurity will bring to a close the most successful racing meet at Arlington Park in many years. And, fittingly, this renewal of the richly endowed juvenile stake may be one of the best in it3 history from the points of quality of entrants and intersectional rivalry. " Boy Angler was bred at Col. E. R. Brad- leys famous Idle Hour Farm in Kentucky and was selected and leased from the Kentucky sportsman by Mrs. Charles Freeman Sheldon, Park Avenue socialite and longtime family friend, to race under the colors of her "Mr. French" stable. Straight Lead will run coupled in the racing for Mrs. Parker Corning, another eastern socialite, reeled off the best work of the Futurity hopes this morning. The good looking son of Chance Play breezed the full stake distance of six furlongs in 1:14, the first half mile in :487s, under the eye of New York trainer Max Hirsch. HIRSCHPAIR. ij Straight Lead will run coupled in the Hirsch-saddled entry with Arnold Hangers Roman Flag, hero of Suffolks Mayflower Stakes. Roman Flag and Straight Lead have ,worked brilliantly since shipping here from New York last Saturday and may be fighting for first favoritism with the Bradley-Sheldon entry. Chief western hope in the starry field may be Russell Firestones Marogay, winner of the Hialeah Juvenile Championship and second in the Hyde Park Stakes earlier in the meeting. This colt will be ridden by Ira "Babe" Hanford. Johnny Longden, riding star of the meet-mg, is slated to have the leg up on the Continued on thirty-fifth page. Keenes War Beauty and Jeanne dArc, two fast daughters of Man o War, likely will be the only fillies in the race. War Beauty was second to Now What after a rough trip in the Lassie Stakes here two weeks ago, while Jeanne dArc has worked impressively for the race. Upwards of 30,000 are expected to witness the running of the Arlington Futurity and its companion stake feature, the ,000 added Arlington Handicap, Saturday. The latter is a mile and a quarter test for older horses, including Mrs. John D. Hertzs Count dOr, hero of the Stars and Stripes Handicap on July 4; Millsdale Stables Sun Lover, second in the Classic; Shandon Farms Burning Star, third in the 0,000 Massachusetts Handicap; W. B. Simpsons Stands Alone, a California stake winner, and several other stars of the handicap division.
