HEADTIDE moved up with U rush after the start, made a determined bid entering the stretch, but was not good enough. MISS GALLANT .closed ground steadily at the end. MEDRED raced greenly throughout. COLORADO ORE . was taken under restraint in the early running, saved much ground entering the stretch, responded to pressure and wore down the leaders to draw away at the end. SUN LARK showed early speed, was carried wide by PIRATE SHIP entering the stretch, then held on gamely to the end. PIRATE SHIP saved ground in the early running, but bore out badly entering the stretch, then faltered at the end. RADIO WAVE showed an even effort all the way. IRISH MOON forced the pace from the start, raced MR. KNICK into defeat, was taken in hand, but was roused sharply to stand off the rush of CLAP IN and was drawing away at the end. CLAP IN was outrun early, improved his position on the outside rounding the stretch, but hung after getting to the winner near the final eighth. AFFIRMATION was close up from the start and showed a good effort. MR. KNICK was in near pursuit of the pace from the start and had no mishaps. MINTSON could not menace the leaders.
