1 LAT0NIA TURF NOTES s James T. Clark, placing judge here, was hobbling about with the aid of a cane as a result of suffering a badly bruised foot. Carl Burns, one of starter Bill Hamiltons assistants, has been engaged to do the starting at the Lexington Colored Fair and the Blue Grass Fair, which run consecutively. F. P. Letellier will transfer his stable of thoroughbreds to Churchill Downs at the close of the Latonia meeting and rest up until the fall season at the Louisville track. Apprentice Ernie Hanke, the Hamburg, Germany, boy, moves over to Washington Park for the opening of the season at the Homewood track Monday. Trainer Otis Clelland will send the horses of Mrs. R. J. Murphy, Evansvillc, Ind., patron, to Dade Park. Judge S. C. Nuckols, who has been vacationing at his home in Versailles, Ky., since the close of North Randall, came up for a few days of racing. He goes to Narragan-sett Park later, where he serves as one of the stewards. Howard Oots, who hase been spending considerable time in California and who is affiliated with Louis B. Mayer, was a visitor at Latonia en route to Lexington, where he maintains two thoroughbred nurseries. The horses George Gould has for E. A. Bischoff, Covington, Ky., owner, will be transferred to Narragansett Park at the close of the current session here. J. Graham Brown, owner of the Brown Hotel Sitable, returned to Louisville after taking in a day of sport at the Milldale course. The Brown Hotel horses will be sent to Washington Park next week by trainer Tom Sanford. J. A. Minor, representative of the Railway Express Company, is here booking shipments for other racing points. After weeding out the Shady Brook Farm to a point where only three remained, R. P. "Dick" Brooks sent the trio to Churchill 1 Downs to be rested up. Those in the consignment were Inkspot, Abanico and Dahomey. A portion of the stable of Frank P. Letellier was sent to Churchill Downs by van and the remainder of the string are scheduled to go to that point Sunday. The horses Charles Houbre is"training for Howard Oots, David Strauss and Dixie Mc-Kinley are scheduled to be transferred to Dade Park at the end of the week. Carroll Allens public stable will get away for Thistle Down Sunday morning, where they will be campaigned during the remainder of the meeting. W. E. Phillips has made arrangements for the shipment of his charges to Washington Park. At the close of the Latonia meeting, racing secretary Wm. H. Shelley plans to journey to Florida for a rest. Walter Wilkcrson, Jr., Louisville horseman, purchased Ostrogoth from the Shady Brook Farm for a private consideration. Wilkerson will take his new acquisition to Dade Park. Larry Bogenschutz received permission to depart Friday for Washington Park, where he will serve as one of the placing judges during the meeting at the Homewood course which gets under way Monday, f
