Speedway Officials Announce Extra 8,000 Bonus Prize INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., May 31 UP.— Speedway officials announced today a 8,000 bonus will be paid for the second straight year, in addition to the 5,000 guaranteed 500-mile race purse. It would boost the Speedway prize kitty — which does not include lap, accessory or entry fee money — to a total of 33,000. Winner. Lee Wallards share of that will be 2,500. The lap, accessory and entry money will push the total prize money over the 00,-000 mark for the second straight year. Of the 01,135 in prize money awarded last year, 1950 winner Johnnie Parsons collected 7,458.
