The blue-blooded son of Hyperion — Drift will arrive here by air from England around July 1. He is booked to 43 mares in his native country this season, and will be flown over here as soon as his services are completed. The acquisition of this young stallion is considered one of the most important to the breeding industry in California since Louis B. Mayer imported. Beau Pere and Alibhai. He was considered one of the best sire prospects in the British Isles and several other interests were also bidding for him. His second crop to the races are now two-year-olds, and his first crop produced 10 winners and two stakes winners, Johnston said this morning. Seven Seas will stand at the Chino Ranch of trainer Charlie Leavitt, who appropriately has changed its name to Seven Seas Ranch. The local group who purchased the horse will be known as the Seven Seas Syndicate. Terms of the sale were private.
