Indians Beat Red Sox, 9-7 , As Feller Earns Tenth Win BOSTON, Mass., June 18 UP.— Bob Feller needed help in the ninth inning, but scored his sixth straight victory and 10th of the year today as the Cleveland Indians smashed 14 hits, including home runs by Al Rosen, Sam Chapman and Ray Boone to beat the Boston Red Sox, 9 to 7. The victory was Fellers third of the season over Boston, but the first time in two years that he has beaten the Red Sox at Fenway Park. He suffered his only defeat of the season to them on May 19 here. The Red Sox threatened to keep their home park jinx against Feller alive when they routed him and Mike Garcia in a three-run ninth inning, but lefty Lou Brizzie came in to strike out Billy Goodman and retire Johnny Pesky on an infield out with the bases filled. Pesky previously had smashed three hits, including a two-run homer— his first of the year.
