SHILLY SHALLY raced with the pace for more than a half mile and gave way. PETES VIGIL lacked a menacing rally. KINGS LANE was hard pressed for the early lead and quit. NUTMEG was shuffled back early. DARBY DAMOUR assumed command in the opening furlong, .was nicely rated and held on tenaciously after allowing LARRY DOOLEL to move through along the inside and challenge. LARRY D00LEY$ always prominent, lugged in to attain the rail, but was not goad enough after engaging the leader in the early stretch. He was disqualified for having bothered SILVER CROSS when he lugged in near the three and one-half furlongs pole. CONSERVATION raced evenly. STRAIGHT FLUSH closed with a rush. EAST IS EAST lacked a rally. WORLD EMPRESS weakened. SILVER CROSS almost went down when badly bothered in the vicinity of the three-eighths pole. PETTY LARCENY closed willingly. LITTLE SHREW weakened only slightly after duelling for the lead. LILLIAN CLARKE raced well in the late stages. CASEIN failed to reach serious contention. FIRST SALVO, steadied when outrun for the early lead, moved through along the "inside to attain command, then guit. FREE AND EQUAL set and pressed the pace to the stretch and flattened cut. The latter was always prominent and responded well after allowing REHEARSER to move by her. EXCHEQUER held a commanding advantage nearing the stretch and faltered. LUNATION seemed a bit rank on the turn. CENSOR- c SHIP was again sluggish early and closed full of run. DREAM PASSES failed to enter contention.
