RENA POP, away alertly and showing marked improvement over her former start, assumed command approaching the stretch and, after establishing a clear lead, won under a snug hold. FANCY DREAM, never far back, moved up with„RENA POP at the .stretch turn, could not threaten the latter, but was easily best of the others. BOLD BANDIT went to the front early, but faltered after making the pace for three-sixteenths mile, PENNWOVEN was ourun. BOLTON was never dangerous. BONUS BOY tired after showing early speed. EQUISUN saved ground while racing forwardly placed to the stretch, responded to punishment during the drive and, after disposing of TIME ETERNAL, won going away. TIME ETERNAL assumed an early lead, made the-pace to the last eighth, then was unable to withstand the winner, but lasted to dead-heat with MEYERSDALE for second. MEYERSDALE raced evenly to the stretch and closed well enough to be on equal terms with TIME-ETERNAL at the. finish. IRRAWADDY held on well and had no mishap. PROMISE was outrun. NO LEDDIE could not keep up after showing early speed. VALDINA DECOY and REPAND were never dangerous and raced wide through the stretch. Overweight— Time Eternal, 1 pound. SCOTCH JACK, hard hustled from the start, raced by SO GRAND entering the stretch and then held MR. TWEETY safe. The latter, never far back but on the outside to the stretch, jore in badly during the drive and could not reach the winner, although much the best cf the others.- SO GRAND assumed command at the start, made the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened. THE TROUBADOR could not better his position when set down in the drive. PIXEY SAL failed to. stay after showing early foot. NOBLE IDEA began sluggishly. EASY SILVER was through early. MADAM JEEP saved ground while improving her position to- the stretch, responded to punishment during the drive and wore down GALLAJACI in the last sixteenth mile. GALLAJACI, forwardly placed from the start, opened a clear lead when settled n the. stretch, but could not withstand the winner. TEN GALLON HAT lacked early speed, raced wide to the stretch and then closed fast under punishment. M CORK began slowly. HIKES POINT lacked racing room when caught between horses during the drive. PSYCHIC LAD was outrun. HURSTLAND could not keep up. GLOAMING made the pace to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. Scratched— 31268 Carlene, 104. Overweight— Gloaming, 3 pounds. The latter saved ground throughout, closed willingly under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. 0. K. DOAK was unable to reach the leaders when set down through the stretch. MON SPEED began fast, engaged TRY IKE to* the last eighth, then weakened. KY. HASH was outrun. GRACIOUS HEART i was never a serious factor.
