Prickett; bred by A. F. Wall. WENT TO POST— 5:36i. OFF AT 5:36£ EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won handily; second and third driving. D0NNAD00N, in hand while racing within striking distance of TECHNICAL to the stretch, went to the front when mildly urged during the drive and won going away. TECHNICAL moved into command early, made the pace to the stretch and continued well under punishment, but could not withstand the winner. MAD CORD, reserved to the last three-eighths, lost ground entering the stretch and then closed fast. MY JAM lacked early speed. BULL MAN tired after racing forwardly placed to the stretch. SANTA CLAUS tired. MARY GRACE was outrun. COPITO began sluggishly and sulked in a dull effort. NINTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES: Our Request, Oct. 7, 1950—1:43—4—119. L. Weitzel; bred by Calumet Farm. WENT TO POST— 6:08. OFF AT 6:09 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. URGENT, away slowly, gradually improved position after the start, was steered to the inside during the stretch run and disposed of the leaders in the last sixteenth. MR. TUCK, rank during the post parade, was steadied until reaching the stretch, reached the lead between calls during the drive, but was unable to withstand the top one. ACME moved up boldly entering the stretch and held on gamely in a good effort. BUBBINS was hustled to the front early, established a long lead during the run to the stretch, but tired during the drive. ZERO, reserved to the stretch, failed to rally when set down in the drive. ONand PLAY was outrun. FRERE JACQUES lacked early speed and, blocked during the stretch run, could not reach the leaders. SWEET REWARD was never dangerous. VERANO had brief speed but failed to stay.
