Holland Enters Annual IMAC Championship at Aurora Oval AURORA, HI., June 18. , — Midwestern speed fans will get a chance to see the long-awaited "dirt track duel of the year" when the 6th Annual IMCA championship big car auto races are held on the. wide half-mile oval at Aurora Downs here, Sunday afternoon, June 24. The meeting of the two speed greats of eastern and midwestern competition — Bill Holland, Reading, Pa., winner of the 1949 Indianapolis 500-mile classic, and Frank Luptow, 1949-50 IMCA dirt track title holder — was assured today when Al Sweeney, of Chicago, the official starter for the sixth annual dirt track classic, arrived at Aurora With the sighed entry of Holland. The veteran speed official flew to Reading this past weel end and conferred with the former American Automobile Association champion regarding his appearance in the famous midwest dirt tragk classic. Holland finally signed to meet Luptow and the large field of nationally known speed stars in his 274 cubic inch Of f enhauser, the same size and make of motor that he drove to victory in 1949 anod second place last year. Holland, rated one of the all-time greats of the two and one-half mile brick Speedway, has run up a record at Indianapolis that has been equaled by few. In four starts in the famous Memorial Day event, the popular speed ace has one victory and three second place drives to his credit.
