WENT TO POST-6:17. OFF AT 6:171 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. 0. K. DOAK went to the front at the start, made the pace to the stretch under occasional urging, continued willingly when set down for the drive and lasted to withstand LATE SHIP. The latter, reserved to the stretch, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and, closing strongly, was getting to the winner at the finish. LAST STRIDE moved up determinedly approaching the stretch, reached the lead between calls during the drive but faltered near the finish. ONWARD MARCH began sluggishly but finished fast. TERRYS CANE gave a fair effort and had no mishap. SULTY was outrun. MISS KAZOO raced well to the stretch, then gave way. BOLING POLLY was never dangerous. OPENING DAY could not keep up. GLORYS CHANCE in hand to the upper turn, assumed command approaching the stretch and, drifting out badly thereafter, held a clear advantage to the finish. BLEWSO, reserved and saving ground to the last quarter mile, finished fast but could not get to the winner. JUST-MADE-IT steadily worked way forward but faltered when set down during the drive, losing the place to BLEWSO in the last strides. HISTORY MAKER had no mishap. PRO failed to stay after showing early speed. FINAL EDITION was never prominent. STIMBORO tired after three-quarters mile. MY JAM had brief speed. THE MAID was through early and raced wide through the stretch. Attendance, 9,612; Total Mutuel Pool, 32,265.
