LEAD ON displayed speed throughout, but was not good enough MISS BEAUFORT held a clear lead after three furlongs and gave way. TRUST lacked a response. EXHAUST failed to reach contention from her outside position. SCOTCH ADELE was outrun. BLUE WHIZ KID gave way badly. AWARE closed ground steadily. SEVEN LEAGUE rallied only mildly. TEN FORTY held a commanding lead into the stretch and weakened under his burden. PRINCE COLE could not keep up. FRACAS saved ground while following the pace, moved to the fore just after the final jump and clearly demonstrated his superiority. MONTADET set the pace over the final fence, but was no match for his stablemate. FLAMING COMET raced forwardly, challenged boldly in the late stages, then weakened. Carter claimed foul against FRACAS, but it was disallowed. TEDDY BRIAR faltered after the final jump. GOLDEN FURLONG raced well and appeared ready to challenge when he landed badly and almost went down at the thirteenth jump. GENTLE STAR weakened. EXTRA POINTS fell at the seventh fence.
