EQUABLEU could not match strides for command rounding the turn, regained the lead inside the furlong post and gradually drew clear. JENKINTOWN unseated his rider and ran off about a quarter mile during the post parade, went into a clear lead on the turn despite bearing out and running wide, continued to go wide through the drive and was not good enough. DAM ION was well placed, tired, but Pved best of the others. TROPICAL was outrun M IN TROUBLE gave way badly in the final quarter mile COCKAHOOP was slow to : start VALENC AN0 lost a I chance when carried wide on the turn. SON ROCK had brief speed and quit. RAMBLING MARY went into command a stride after the break, drew out on the turn and won easily. BAY HASH, badly outrun in the opening half mile closed resolutely, but did not menace the top one. SUSAN DEAR was best of tired horses. IRONY broke alertly lacked speed to remain prominent and tired in the drive. BLUE FLASH, far back early, was blocked inside the furlong post. EOLUS was rank and bore out on all the turns while making the pace and outgamed SOLAR COUNT. The latter saved ground while well placed, was blocked and hemmed in rounding the final turn, then lacked a closing rally when clear for the finish run. SUGAR COATED was in close attendance of the pace from the start and tired. HALLEY fenced poorly at the eighth fence and failed to recover. PAINTED SHIP was left flat-footed at the break and fenced poorly over the seventh obstacle. JANIES BEAU ran out on the first turn. Scratched— 60013 Printers Devil, 130. LA PEROUSE, with the first flight from the break, went up to challenge in the stretch, disposed of WILFUL and drew away. The latter came to the rail when clear on the turn, held on well in the drive, but was not good enough. MY CUT IN dropped back on the inside rounding the turn, went out slightly entering the stretch and closed with good courage. PERFECT HIT broke sluggishly, raced wide all the way and should improve off the ffort. IN THE VAN tired. MAEBETA was hustled along after breaking sluggishly, threatened for the lead and gave way. MISS COMEBACK tired. HEIRESS took up at the start and showed nothing. GOLDEN GLOVES was placed under light restraint while closest to the lead, could not make up ground when punished through the stretch, then went through on the rail in the final sixteenth mile to wear down HITEX nearing the end. QUIET STEP, far back and under rating in the opening half mile, made up ground steadily when called upon and closed strongest. HITEX established a commanding lead quickly, maintained a formidable advantage until inside the furlong post and gave way suddenly. COUNT FLAME was outrun. COLD COMMAND did not extend himself fully until in the stretch and went by tired horses. AIR SERVICE showed nothing. POTPOURRI quit. MIXTURE was never in a contending position. NOBLE SUN was within striking distance from the beginning, reached command m the stretch and faltered. TOQUILA weakened after setting the pace.
