J. MURPHY ARLINGTON PARK, Arlington Heights, 111., June 18. — The Calumet Farm Stables well-regarded colt, Mark -Ye -Well will have his first outing on a Chicago course tomorrow when he races in the featured Waterfall Purse for three-year-olds at six furlongs. The son of Bull Lea has been campaigned only lightly. He did not race as a two-year-old and started but once at Santa Anita last winter when he finished third to Forelock and King Jolie. He was then shipped to Keeneland where he broke out the maiden ranks in defeating Delph and others at six furlongs. f Proving his fitness for his inital test in this area, Mark-Ye-Well breezed a half mile in :47% this morning. He will be ridden by Eddie Arcaro. The Calumet three-year-old will carry 120, same as that with which seven of his rivals will be burdened. In that poundage bracket are Glance, Twenty Gauge, Colonel Hoop, Val-O-Val, Calicut, Mr. Dude and Dead Duck. Conditions for the Waterfall were so attractive that an "also eligible" list was necessary to embrace all the entrants. Ace Captain and Orcas, who drew the outside numbers, will only start providing a couple of the top 12 are withdrawn. Others in the field are Spring Khal. Effie W., Penaction and Wondrous Wise. Raced at Lincoln Fields Meeting A number of those named for the Waterfall raced at the Lincoln Fields meeting. In their last starts, Glance and Mr. Dude were unplaced in the Historian Purse that was won by Foxy Wager, Penaction won the first race of his career in the Wise Counsellor Purse, and Orcas graduated in the Miss Dogwood Purse, and was later unplaced in a race won by Hi Decker with Pines of Rome second. Another event for three-year-olds exclusively, a mile affair listed seventh on the card, has produced a field of 11. But Why and Mattafor, a pair which went well at Lincoln Fields have drawn the inside and outside post positions, respectively, in this race. Among others named to race are Hopeido, Bernrough, and Injector, all of whom finished fairly close up last time out. The longest race of the meeting to date will bring tomorrows program to a close. A field of seven will go one and one-eighth miles and the Emerald Hill Stable has ! named a double entry in Strike Out and Flying Bold. Can Locate, dropping down in class; Worcester, three-time winner at Lincoln Fields, and Chow Chow, successful here opening day. are among the other scheduled starters.
