FLEMING — Sent out I Trust for an easy score in the third of the Montchanin Handicap series at the Delaware Park course. Rank Outsider Has Seven-Length Edge Leads Monte and Ball Hawk Home as Favored Benhadar Goes Unplaced at Delaware By PALMER HEAGERTY Staff Correspondent DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 18. — Robert E. Cudahys I Trust became the third winner in as many Montchanin Handicap runnings when he scored a galloping seven-length victory as the 9.50 rank outsider in the mile and one-quarter version of the five-race series. John V. Thompsons Monte was second and C. H. Everitts Ball Hawk, third, as Ramon de Legorburus odds-on choice, Benhadar, finished a dismal sixth in the eight-horse field. I Trust, under Nick Shuk, was timed in 2:03% for the 10 furlongs and his victory came on the heels of that turned in by Nydrie Stables Nimble Myth, who paid 6.40 as the extreme outsider in the fifth race. Prior to her triumph, eight successive favorites had made good, exclusive of the steeplechase race. The attendance was estimated at 11,500. Badly beaten in the last two Mont-chanins, I Trust showed surprisingly good form to pick up 24 points in the standings for the series. He remains tied with Benhadar in this respect, while Bimfort is in front with 27 points. It is doubtful, however, that she will compete further in the event, in that the distance will be increased each week. Trio Races Each Other Into Defeat In this mile and a quarter version, Taylor Chewnings lacaro, Phil Leydeckers Fifty-Five and Mrs. Esther duPont Weirs Uncle Don raced each other into defeat through the first six furlongs, then were not to be found in the concluding stages. I Trust, in the meantime, did not make a move until leaving the backstretch, bounding to the front shortly thereafter and carrying Shuk to his second victory on the card and his fourteenth of the meeting. Monte, who became eligible for the race only last Saturday when he raced in a ,500 claimer, was no match for I Trust, but he clearly outfinished the others, as Ball Hawk caught weary horses to earn a part of the purse. Benhadar, who tow-roped his field last week at a mile and a furlong and who already had been conceded the main share of the spoils which are to be divided at the completion of the series, turned in a poor effort, with no possible excuse. He was ridden by the same jockey, Ronnie Nash, but simply had no run in him. George A. Garretts Trojan Monarch became a three-time winner in as many endeavors when he outsprinted the two-year-olds pitted against him in the five and one-half furlongs fourth race. Under Art Monteiro, the Priam II. colt again won by sheer speed, dashing the distance in 1:05% as a .30 favorite. Bayard Sharps Judge M. was a steadily closing second, beaten one length. In third position, five lengths farther back, came Cary C. Bos-hamers Fast Jeep.
