Rivera Pilots Penny Annie, I Tolya So to Ascot Wins ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls. Ohio. June 18. — Jockey Louis Rivera had a Double on the afternoons card when he piloted D. W. Sheltons Penny Annie to victory in the Elks Purse, one of the attractions on todays card. It was the Zevson mares first* victory of the season and made it her seventh start, including an outing at this plant when she finished third to Sleepy Port and Sun It. Today Rivera made it a front-running event, much the same as when she won the initial running of the Erin Go Branch at Cranwood Park last fall. Clocked the one and one-sixteenth miles in a commendable 1.48%, she returned a .40 mutuel. Ideal weather conditions prevailed in the Akron-Cleveland area again today and one of the most enthusiastic mid-week crowds estimated at 4,500, was on hand. Riveras other winner came in the second race when he completed the second half of the Daily Double with A. W. Oktavec and J. Donnellys I Toldya So. The latter winner, coupled with J. Warreners Sumee, with A. Garther up, was worth 3 .20 in this wagering.
