- Cavalier Trim Accorded Edge for Another Tally Four-Time Winner This Year Has Eight Opponents at River Downs RIVER DOWNS, California, Ohio, June 18.— The continuance of wilting heat has ! had its affect on the size of tomorrows card with the fields being on the smallish side. The same good quality is present. I however, especially in the featured seventh j race, an allowance test for three-year-olds I and upward at the six furlongs sprint distance. Nine runners, representing but eight in-: terests, have been named for the race titled the Hyde Park Country Club, honoring an establishment of Cincinnati. The complete field follows: H. Levinsons Skip N Run, W. F. Riggs Cavalier Trim, E. C. Buntings Candidate, J. C. Gillems Neb Jr., W. E. Harneds Jungle Fire, P. Roses Royal Flash, J. Annarinos Blue Express, and the Mrs. L. Wagner entry of Milan Man and My Sister. Most favored by the allowance conditions seems to be W. F. Riggs six-year-old mare, Cavalier Trim. This matron has been campaigning with moderate success against slightly better performers than she meets in the Hyde Park and a steady effort tomorrow will make her very difficult to handle. The Sir Walter — War Bob mare has a third and fourth in allowance races to attest to her steadiness and is strictly the one to beat. The consistent Candidate, two-time winner over the River Downs track, is again expected to attract much public support. This Woolford castoff was beaten but far from disgraced in his last effort and, if he can be rated early, may match the late charge of Cavalier Trim. Such speedsters as My Sister, Blue Express and Milan Man will make the opening quarters especially lively, but none of these have had much success in carrying their speed. Milan Man has been racing too often to have stamina in the late stages while his stablemate was always rather fainthearted. Jungle Fire showed a flash of his old time power last outing and may be approaching a "big" race. The Harned runner performed much better last season than this and could be dangerous tomorrow. Royal Flash remains a maiden with little chance to graduate, Neb Jr. has nothing to recommend and Skip N Run has yet to race this year.
