Huntleys Whirling Dough in Saturdays Puritan Handicap here. Nominations for the Mayflower Stakes to be run on closing day, Saturday, June 28, closed yesterday with a large number of juveniles being named for the event. George "Yum Yum" Dominick will handle the booking engagements for jockey Gene Pederson, veteran journeyman saddlesmith, for the rest of the New England racing season. J. L. Shumakers Clays Choice, a useful three-year-old colt, has been returned to training since injured on April 26 in the Paul Revere Handicap. Racing secretary "Eb" Pons is planning summer vacation in Canada following the close of the Suffolk Downs meeting which ends a week from Saturday. He will return to New England late next month to take over his duties as racing secretary at Rockingham Park.
