Seven Routers Compete In Ottawa Hills Purse Expiator Has Ocean Play and Five Others as His Opponents By R. E. HURLEY Staff Correspondent FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, April 30. — The Fort Miami association, which has been naming its feature race for the nearby towns, will honor the Ottawa Hills section of Toledo tomorrow with the Ottawa Hills Purse, which has drawn seven routers at the mile and a sixteenth distance. The suburban section is located close to the Maumee site of Fort Miami and a goodly crowd is expected to be on hand for the proceedings. Owner-trainer W. F. Parks, of Baltimore, Md., will send out the probable favorite in Expiator, gelded son of Easton — Damaged Goods, and the only real opposition in the Ottawa Hills seems to be W. A. Johnsons Ocean Play. They will be matched with War Spy, Royal Eddie, Big Muddy, Gold-roon and Danna Like, with the last three named distinct outsiders. Expiator came to this track from Charles Town and has had two good distance races under his belt, finishing in a dead -heat for third position in his last after being on the pace throughout the entire race. The Riggs gelding held on with a tenacity that indicated that he had reached top condition and the lack of pace in Fridays feature will be to his advantage. Ocean Play has had two seconds locally after getting the "feel" of the track in a sprint outing. William Jewell is again slated to handle the Display gelding and fits him extremely well. These two have little to fear from the main opposition, but Royal Eddie has an outside chance to upset if in a running mood. The aging mare has had a fine stretch kick in some races and may find the route of the Ottawa Hills to her suiting.
