PIPE OF PEACE, a keen factor and saving ground from the start, remained next to the inner rail for the stretch run and, disposing of MLLE. LORETTE, held TO CHALLENGE safe. TO CHALLENGE stumbled leaving the gate, was hustled to reach serious contention and finished fast, but could not get to the winner. MLLE. LORETTE took command at the start, set the pace until inside the stretch, then faltered. MUCHO FRIO gave a fair effort and had no excuse. REBUS was outrun. ALIE-ED was never prominent. ZYBIE. never far back, responded to punishment during the stretch run and, after disposing of AIR ARM, held EOLIA safe. EOLIA raced evenly for a half-mile, responded to strong handling during the drive, but could not get to the winner. AIR ARM went to the front early, set the pace until inside the stretch, but faltered when challenged by ZYBIE. ALPHAS CHOICE saved ground from the start, but failed to rally for the drive. 0. K. DOAK could not keep up after engaging AIR ARM to the stretch. DJYMY raced wide. SEPHORA was never prominent. CHANCEOVA was outrun. GINKAK, INJURED DURING THE POST PARADE. WEE RAIDER saved ground while outrun to the last three-eighths mile, was sent to the middle of the track entering the stretch and, responding to good handling, wore down the leaders during the final furlong. SECRET IMPULSE, a keen factor from the start, held on gamely when set down in the drive but was unable to stay with the top one. TONYS TROUBLE went to the front at the start, made the pace until inside the stretch, then weakened. HASTY FREEDOM gave a good effort and had no mishap. MIBELAIRE saved ground at the final turn, made a good bid in the early stretch, then faltered. JACKS BANNER tired. CAPRICORNIO tired after racing well to the stretch. Overweight— Capricornio, 1 pound. Attendance, 11,000 Estimated; Total Mutuel Pool, 77,537.
