► ————— Set Shot to Meet Hope Hull Today Recent Sportsmans Victors Among Eleven Sophomores In Eastern Airlines Purse SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., April 30. — Eleven three-year-olds, two of which have been victorious at this meeting, have been entered in the Eastern Airlines Purse that will be the best race on tomorrows program here. Those in the ,000 seven-furlong affair to earn brackets during the past 10 days are Fred Hoopers Hope Hull, an unsexed son of Pry — Patricia P., by Pilate, who won on a heavy track at seven furlongs here Monday, and Henry D. Mag-gios Set Shot, who scored at five furlongs last Saturday. The Woodwin Stables Possess, who was second to Set Shot, and James C. Ellis Raging Tide, who was third to Hope Hull, are also in the event. Possess was second choice to Set Shot, who was an odds-on favorite. Raging Tide was an outsider in his event. Raging Tide won a maiden allowance race at Sunshine Park. Frosty Face Consistent Sort Frosty Face, who will race in the colors of W. C. Tackett in the feature, is a strawberry roan colt who wound up his two-year-old career in auspicious fashion last year in winning three or his last four starts. All successes came at New Organs. Frosty Face has started several times this season without success. Owner John E. Nolan will start the gelding, Little Jonesy, in the Eastern Airlines. j Little Jonesy was third to Set Shot and Possess here and won a maiden race in his prior start. That was at Gulfstream Park ■ in early April. Dads Degree, who races for j John F. Beck, is a double winner this year I and could be dangerous. The son of Third Degree won his second start of the year at New Orleans and later made good at Hot Springs. In his start here opening day, Dads Degree was second to Anuny One. - Others in the top race are John P. Clearys Brookhaven, John and George ; Hejnas Rebounder, Otto Pohlmans Pink j Mink, and Dr. J. J. Gregorys Flight Cap-| tain. Brookhaven, in his last outing here, : was forced very wide and finished fourth j in the race won by Set Shot. He competed J in good company at Gulfstream and as a I two - year - old frequently performed in stakes company. Rebounder has started twice at the meeting and has been unplaced j on each occasion. Rebounder won a race at Hawthorne last year. Pink Mink finished second to Master ] Red here last week, and in that effort finished in front of Set Shot, Brookhaven and I Rebounder. The distance was five furlongs. Flight Captain scored twice at Gulfstream I Park, first at one and one -sixteenth miles, and later at one and one-eighth miles.
