Alfred Boulder Invades Beulah Park Track Today Fort Miami Star Meets Nine Opponents in Feature Event BEULAH PARK, Grove City, Ohio, May 18. — Heavy week-end rains, which drenched this sector, had a lightening effect on the size of the fields for the regular Tuesday program, as many horsemen elected not to run over the soaked race track. The featured seventh race drew 10 horses to be the largest and best race on the program, with Alfred Boulder, the invading champion from Fort Miami, scheduled to face Dandy Scholar, Ground Fog, Jungle Fire, Gift Maedic, Duskys First, Briars Red, Good Timer, Cho Cho San, and Mist-O-Blue at the mile and 70 yards distance. Alfred Boulder equaled the six-furlong track mark on Saturday at Fort Miami and had previously won at a mile over the best middle-distance racers at that course. The six-year-old son of Alfred the Great — Alva Khan, must carry top weight of 118 pounds under the allowance conditions of the Alcor Purse, as the feature has been called, and will be sorely tested by Ground Fog, Jungle Fire, Gift Maedic and Duskys First, who tote the same package, indicating that they have been to the winners circle recently. Ground Fog is a veteran performer who will be making his initial Ohio showing, but has endeared himself to New Jersey, Florida and New England racing fans during the past seasons. The gray has inherent courage from his matron, Dewey Dawn, and has winning races at Lincoln Downs to indicate a fit racing condition. Jane Byrons Dandy Scholar is two pounds below the topweights at 116, which may be just enough to tip the victory to his pert owner-trainer. Dandy Scholar has had a race over the Grove City course and usually shows much better after getting the feel of a track.
