SQUARED AWAY cut across sharply while assuming command soon after the start, steadily increased his advantage and won without need of pressure. He was disqualified for having caused crowding while moving to the rail and was placed last. SENATOR JOE hesitated briefly at the start, improved his position steadily and wore down all but the top one. LANDSEAIR was steadied along the inside in the vicinity of the half-mile pole and weakened gradually. TUSCANY was crowded soon after the start and failed to menace the winner. WHIFFENP00F was unable to reach contention, as was FIRST REFUSAL. HYPHASIS flattened out badly. BRAZEN BRAT was sluggish early. JESS LINTHICUM quit. WAR PHAR was through early. PORT WINDSOR weakened only slightly after saving ground throughout. SWEET NAOMI failed to reach the first flight. LEVEL SANDS was outrun. FANCY GENT quit. AQUARIUS showed nothing.
