► ■ Walter Shultz holds BUTCH K., and "Drumstick/ the stables featured mascot, observes the operation as Guy Shultz applies leg bandages to the big brown gelding, top runner in the Shultz string and winner of the 0,000 added Ak-Sar-Ben Handicap last year. The Shultz brothers, of Marland, Okla., had the leading stable at the 1952 Ak-Sar-Ben meeting. They will have 12 horses competing at Ak-Sar-Ben this year at the 35-day meeting which opens today, and BUTCH K. is entered in the Inaugural Handicap.
