GALDAR, never far back, came over sharply on HELIUM when starting his stretch run, gained command at the furlong marker-and steadily drew clear to win with something left. CONFUCIOUS recovered readly after stumbling leaving the gate, raced forwardly placed to the stretch, then faltered. TEXT was compelled to take the complete overland route throughout the running. TIMBER lacked the necessary rally, but lasted to finish on even terms with ADAR. The latter came to the complete outside for the drive and was up in the final stride to dead-heat with TIMBER.
