CRITERIA moved steadily on the outside after entering the stretch and, finishing with good courage, got to the front in the final strides. NEROS MERMAID saved ground in the early running and slipped through on the inside of TORDAR in the stretch run to take a short lead, but was unable to resist the winner. HEAD FOR HOME was always a forward contender and finished close up. TORDAR weakened slightly in the stretch run. SAINT NICHOLAS went very wide on the stretch turn. The others were outpaced. HOOP MOOD soon went to the front, and shaking off ROSE OF GREY nearing the stretch turn, opened up a good lead, but was inclined to falter nearing the end and was doing her best. The latter displayed good speed out of the gate and showed courage after being headed. BROOK FLOWER improved her position in the stretch and appeared strongest at the end. CANARY ISLAND went evenly throughout in a good effort. BLUE HAVAII was in rather tight quarters in the early running. BLESS AMERICA moved up to PUSH PIN on the outside nearing the stretch turn and, although having quite a time getting to the front, eventually made it in the last sixteenth and was going away at the end. PUSH PIN headed the field early -and, saving ground, held on in determined fashion to the closing stages. BAHIA had no trouble disposing of SUN BIM in the stretch. SUN BIM saved ground, but weakened. BLUES SONG soon sprinted to the front on the outside, and withstanding mild stretch challenges from SPOTLIGHT STAR and FANCY DEER, pulled away in the last fifty wards. SPOTLIGHT STAR raced close to the leader to the last sixteenth, then began to drop back. FANCY DEER displayed good early speed, but held on well. FULGENT was outrun throughout and failed to threaten for any part of the money at any stage. CHRISTY IMP failed to offer much contention. FUTURAMATIC was close enough to the pace all the way and was hard ridden, but was unable to seriously menace the winner. HELIOWISE dropped back after entering the stretch, but had no trouble holding the others. ALBEMARLE went evenly. JET FLEET was badly outrun. Decapolis claimed by J. J. Gregory and H. D. Maggio. The latter seemed to be in rather tight quarters on the inside in the early running but responded gamely in the stretch and was going well at the finish. JO PILOT had the most early foot but began to drop back after going half the trip. JACODEMA broke well but was unable to keep up. DIXIE FLYER was slow to get in stride and was outpaced. OLE NELSON moved up on the Inside after going half the trip and, finding a wide opening next to the rail on the stretch turn, came through to take command and drew away near the end. BLENOMAR was under slight restraint while racing on the outside of JET ACE in the early running, then drew out when given free rein, but lost his chance by going wide on the stretch turn and allowing DR. OLE NELSON to come through on the inside. ABBE STING trailed to the stretch, then came fast and would have been second in another stride. SAETTA beat the others away, and racing as "if clearly the best, soon took a good lead to increase her advantage as she went and won with speed in reserve. OLD RUGGED was always closest to the leader and ran a good race, but failed to seriously threaten the winner, although easily best of the others. SKY PRINCESS was badly outrun to the stretch, then came fast. FLIGHT CAPTAIN also moved up in the stretch to stage a good finish. PUTT PUTT lacked his usual early speed and closed some ground.
