Domenico Closing In for Rider Honors at Fairmount Park FAIRMOTJNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., June 29. Riding honors here at the Fair-mount Park meeting appears to be in the bag for Palmer Domenico as he now is only five winning mounts off apprentice Ken Griffith who has been grounded for the past three days and will be down for the balance of the current meeting. Before being set down by the stewards, Griffith was in the lead with an even 40 winners while Domenico was close behind with 27. In the past three days, Domenico has ridden eight winners, two of them on the Saturday night program which now places him just five off the leader Griffith. From the way Domenico is adding them up he should not only catch Griffith but pass him within the next five racing cards that are left of this meeting which winds up on July 4th. The only apparent opposition is R. Sanabria and G. R. Martin who are far back with Sanabria having 20 winners and Martin with 17.
