- Centennial Meeting Gets Off To Good Start; 8,450 Attend CENTENNIAL RACE TRACK; Littlelon, Colo., June 29. The weatherman provided ideal conditions for the opening days racing of this 50-day session last Saturday, and a crowd of 8,450 fans wagered 64,525 on the 10-race program. This indicates there will be a substantial increase again this year in the popularity of this course. For the 1952 opening day, the mutuel play was 58,716 and the attendance was 6,250. Mr. and Mrs. George Adams Blaze Face, a handsome five-year-old gelded son of Ttennob Mum Electress was the victor in the Littleton Speed Handicap, the feature offering on the card. The weather which became a bit cloudy just before the running of this event did not hamper him in any way and with jockey C. lies in the saddle, he sped the five furlongs in :59 to be a head in front of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Martins Haughty Miss. Second choice in the wagering, he returned a .60 mutuel. Haughty Miss who was coupled with Swanees Penny, was the favorite and as such, was a good two and one-half lengths in front of her closest rival, Mrs. Max Petersons Winada,
