Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. SONOFUN assumed command at once, drew clear and was steadied until the final quarter mile, shook off the bid of LITTLE AUD and outfinished LONG HILL in a sustained stretch drive. The latter ranged up on the outside to vie for the lead in the stretch, but was not good enough. LITTLE AUD moved in close attendance of the pace early, saved ground and rallied to challenge the leader in the drive and weakened. CRACKICE closed from off the pace. WILLOW WARE had no mishap. ELEVEN-BOY JR. improved his position gradually, swung to the outside for the drive and finished stoutly. CHERRY PRINCE established the pace under light restraint, shook off KINGBOLT but was unable to match strides in the late stages. KINGBOLT weakened. CAPT. GALLAGHER, moving along the rail in the stretch, lugged in badly and bothered SAFE AT HOME CLICK, steadied when outrun, closed willingly on the extreme outside. SAFE AT HOME saved ground and was eliminated when bothered. VIVIANS BEST had no mishap. QUATREFOIL weakened. VENTURER showed nothing. The latter moved readily along the" rail to engage the leader entering the stretch, but was unable to gain the lead. PILE DRIVER worked hi way up gradually along the inside to get within striking distance of the leaders, unleashed a late rush, but was not good enough. GAME-WING went evenly. MAIDENS REWARD had no mishap. FRANKS FIRST showed an even effort. CONDAMION, sluggish in the early stages, saved ground to no avail. HASKELL improved position gradually, rallied under a steady drive, but was no match for the winner. CLANDEN passed tiring horses on the extreme outside. HERON LAKE, steadied when unable to run with the pace, rallied mildly, but was unable to menace. COHERENCE weakened. AILEENS PRIDE was sent to the front soon after the start, established the early pace under a snug hold and failed to respond when roused. SUNDAY BRIDGE showed nothing. LARRY ELLIS moved within striking distance of the pace after three furlongs, came wide on the final turn, but was unable to menace. ANDRE weakened when urged.
