! : ; 1 1 1 Barts Enegry in Easy Tally at Cranwood Park French Rocket Nine Lengths Back Of Winner, Bubblestreanf Third By RONALD KRANCER Staff Correspondent CRANWOOD PARK, Warrensville Heights, Ohio, June 29. C. B. Goochs Barts Enegry made amends for his poor performance of 10 days ago when he came through with an easy nine-length tally in this afternoons featured race. The winner was ridden by Eugene OKeefe and toured the six and one-half furlongs in the record-breaking time of 1:19 and paid his followers 1.80. French Rocket was second, five lengths to the good over Bubblestream. A crowd of 4,294 took in the sport here this afternoon and were treated to the most formful racing of the current meeting. Five favorites won through the eighth race. Barts Enegry broke the best from his inside post position and on the near turn had opened up two lengths over French Rocket, who was second, with the favorite, Dance Routine, in third position, another length and one half back. Racing down the backstretch, the homebred son of Salain, while under wraps, increased his advantage to four lengths, with French Rocket still in second place and the favorite third, two lengths to the good of Beseige. On the stretch turn, the eventual winner drew farther away and through the late stretch just toyed with his field. In his first race over the track this summer, he was in all kinds of trouble and wound up second. He then came back at odds-on and finished last. He grabbed the lead in that particular race, but tired badly while on the backstretch. H. H. Chopins Little Less won her third consecutive race and jockey Eddie Plesa teamed up to capture the sixth race. Mis-tambo was second, five lengths back, and a length and one-quarter in front of Dear Moose. The winner was a lukewarm favorite and paid .60 in touring the mile and one-sixteenth in 1:49. Plesa rode his usual competent race aboard the mare, allowing Mistambo to set the pace in the first quarter of a mile. Dear Moose was in closest pursuit, and the ultimate winner was next to last, some seven lengths back. Between calls on the backstretch, Dear Moose moved to the front and Little Less started to move up rapidly, while on the outside of horses, and racing into the far turn, had taken over the lead by a half length. At the head of the stretch, Little Less drew clear by two lengths with Dear Moose second and Mistambo in third position. In the final sixteenth, the winner increased her margin as if much the best and Dear Moose tired, surrendering the runner-up spot ot Mistambo.
