I wins Hit Helps Giants Set Down Redlegs, 5 to 4 NEW YORK, N. Y., May 11 UP. Monte Irvin, who missed a home run by a wafer-thiri margin on the previous pitch, drilled a 425-foot triple to score Alvin Dark with the winning run today , as the New York Giants ref eated the Cincinnati Red-legs, 5-4, and ended Fred Baczewskis jinx over them.. Whitey Lockman and Willie Mays hit homer runs for the Giants, who scored their third consecutive victory, while Ted Kluszewski hit his tenth homer of the season in the first inning with Bob Adams on base. Veteran righa hander Marvin Grissom shut out the Redlegs in the last two innings to gain credit for his second victory of the season. Baczewskis loss was his sec-and of the year against two victories.
