Determine to Make Public Appearance on Friday Derby Winner Will Be Seen Between Races at Hollywood HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 11. Determine, the plucky little colt who recently won his way into the all-time turf hall of fame with hfc victory in the Kentucky Derby, will be out to greet his friends when Hollywood Park opens Friday. Vice-president and general manager James D. Stewart, of the Inglewood track, announced today that Determine will make -his first public appearance since his Derby triumph between the third and fourth races Friday. He will be ridden by jockey Ray York, who guided him to his Derby win and most of his other stake victories. Determine flew back to Hollywood Park from Louisville, Ky., a week ago to take a short rest under the care of trainer Bill Molter and then prepare for the 0,000 Westerner and other rich stakes on the Hollywood Park program. He is nominated for Hollywood Parks new stakes, the 00,-000 Californian, and the 00,000 net-guaranteed-to-winner Hollywood Gold Cup and will probably be named also for other Hollywood stakes closing later. The welcoming ceremonies for Determine will wind up with his presentation to the fans in the winners circle where he will be greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Crevolin and trainer Molter.
