Iowa Unit at Ak-Sar-Ben OMAHA, Nebr., May 11. Another string of Iowa thoroughbreds has been bedded down at the. Ak-Sar-Ben track for the civic organizations 35-day meeting which gets underway at 2:00 oclock Thursday afternoon, May 20. Owner-trainer Harold Hack of Waverly, Iowa, is conditioning four horses for the Omaha meeting. Top runner in the Iowa stable is Syndicate, big gelded son of Version, a winner of four races last year. Another in the string is a game little runner which put on one of the most thrilling stretch drives at Ak-Sar-Bens 1953 meeting. He is Dista Shower, which was guided to a photo-finish victory by jockey Joe Rettele in one of the closing days of last years meeting.
