Alycidon Specimen Analyses Not Altogether Satisfactory Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, England, May 11 Reuters. Col. Adrian Scrope, manager of Lord Derbys Newmarket establishment, announced that a laboratory examination of specimens taken from the stallion Alycidon has not proved altogether satisfactory. A veterinary report on this examination has been issued to all shareholders in the syndicate and to those who have taken nominations to Alycidon for the 1954 season. , , . L Alycidon, winner of a memorable Ascot Gold Cup duel with Black Tarquin and who went on to win the Goodwood and Don-caster Cups in 1959, had his first crop of two-year-olds running last year. As these included Alpenhorn, Alyxia, Ever Ready and four other winners, Alycidon was looked upon as a stallion with a great future. It is appreciated as a result of the tests that a low fertility percentage can be anticipated this season, but up-to-date methods will be employed to lift this percentage to as high a figure as possible.
