The latter was always formidable, wrested command in the early stretch and was unable to resist the winner. SHORT BIT was slow to settle into stride. PRINCE POGO made up ground in the late stages, as did 20 RAY. APPLE SLAM assumed command early, drew clear on the turn and faltered. LOVELY MOON and QUATRE BUD flattened out badly.
