Lanark Whips Three Crowns And Unrestricted at Suffolk SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 13. Lanark, owned and trained by Dick Gottsman, received a sparkling ride from Vernon Smith and gained a length and a half triumph in the featured Walpole Purse here today. The three-year-old colt threaded his way through a closely bunched field to take the lead at the furlong pole and hold his advantage against mild assaults by Three Crowns and Unrestricted,, who finished second and third, respectively. Lanark paid .40. The sun was conspicuous by its continued presence, making for a pleasant afternoon of sport.
