Sackett Astride First Three Beulah Winners Meets Leading Rider Successfully Guides Narviko.GallablueOuting By J. R. BATTY Staff Correspondent BEULAH PARK, Grove City, Ohio, May 13. Jockey Billy Sackett, who became the leading rider after the first three days of this meeting, today substantially increased his total by riding the first three winners on the card. After piloting both ends of the daily double races, Sackett returned to the winners circle in the third race aboard Outing, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Fremont Dunnick. Outing was the favorite in this six-furlong dash with the crowd of 4,000 and lived up to expectations by downing Frank Heirmerls Bother by a head. Some three lengths farther back, Yamo, owned by the partnership of Snod-grass and Holloway, was third among the eight seasoned sprinters competing. Outing, a five -year-old. daughter of Shut Out Darby Dingo and bred by John W. Galbreath, toured the six furlongs over a "good"strip in 1:13. Making her first appearance this season, the winner returned .40. Both of Sacketts first two winners were registered by narrow margins. He got home astride William R. Smiths Narviko by a head in the opener and guided Mrs. Glenn F. Posts Gallablue to a neck victory in the second race. Narviko paid 1.20, while Gallablue, as the public choice, returned .20. The daily double combination of Narviko and Gallablue was worth 5.80. Fridays program here, the fifth of 19 scheduled, is headed by an allowance race for three-year-olds and older horses. Nine horses are entered to meet at six furlongs for a purse of ,300. The line-up in this non-claiming contest includes Star Nymph, Englishman, Brook-haven, Boiler Plate, Sweep Tiger, Derby Play, Squads left, Little Bingand Adelan-tado. Only two of the field had made appearances under silks at this young meeting. They are Star Nymph and English Man. Star Nymph could reign as choice over the group. He was a stout favorite on opening day here competing over a heavy track, but was forced to accept the place portion of the purse when Frisky Jimmy arrived at the wire four lengths ahead of him. Owned and trained by Gail Osborn, Star Nymph showed some early speed but could not resist Frisky Jimmys challenge when the real test came. However, he finished clearly best of the others in this try at the mile. A dry strip and .the shorter distance required Friday prove a distinct advantage for him. Another recommendation is three recent outings at Fort Miami before this meeting opened. From those endeavors he won two races. - English Man was apparently not fond of the wet footing when competing in the featured race on opening day, finishing far back of the winner, Luciete. It was his first outing of the season. Last year English Man, owned and trained by Lee Hicks, campaigned against better than average allowance company at this track and gave a good account of himself.
