Frank Direie Takes Charge Of Detroit Track Kitchen DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 1. Frank Direie, who successfully operates track kitchens at Lexingtons Keeneland, course and the New Orleans Pair Grounds, has taken over the management of the backstretch restaurant at the local plant. The appointment of Direie came about after Dr. Harry W. Lindy, head of the Michigan division of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, and several key members of the turfmens organization met with general manager Robert Leavitt, of the Michigan Racing Association, and Michigan Racing Commissioner James H. Inglis, and suggested a change in the local track kitchens management.
