Schmidl Suffers Frontal Skull Fracture in Belmont Fall BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 1. X-rays taken of jockey Albert Schmidl at Physicians Hospital, Jackson Heights, today reyeal that the boy suffered a frontal fracture of the skull when spilled from Play Scholar in yesterdays second race. Dr. Alexander Kaye reports that there doesnt appear to be any pressure on Schmidls brain and. believes that he will be able to leave the hospital in about three weeks. Schmidl will not be able to resume riding for at .least two months. Patrol films of the race reveal that Schmidl bounced in front of Host Gogi when he fell from Play Scholar, who ran up on the heels of Kaz. Host Gogi actually jumped over the fallen rider, but as the boy bounced up from the ground, one of the horses front feet struck his forehead.
