Montchanin Handicap Tops Delaware Program First of Five-Race Series Split; Biloxi, Top Brass Loom Favorites DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 1. The Montchanin Handicap, a series of five races which has proved extremely popular in past seasons, is offered Wednesday afternoon in two divisions, with eight contestants in each running. The Montchanin, which is at a mile and a sixteenth for ,000 Wednesday, increases weekly in both distance and purse value, the final one being at a mile and three-quarters for a purse of ,000. There also is an additional award of ,500 to the first four finishers in the point standings, points to be allotted on the basis of 24 for a victory, 12 for a second, six for a third and three for a fourth. Named to contest the first division of the Montchanin are Mrs. E. E. Bankheads Tosca, Pebblebrook Farms Damoso, Win-lochan Stables Adopt, Leslie Jane Stables Top Brass, William Zeigler, Jr.s Requisition, Filippo Baldis Irritate, C. H. Lam-parters Royal Admiral and Mrs. J. Y. Christmas Phantom Gold. Entrants in the second division of the mid-week feature are Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords Biloxi, Brookmeade Stables Going Away, C. Lamar Creswells Flying Away, Mrs. C. T. Holloways Docteur, G. K. Mur-docks Cover Off, O. Vincentes Mikeaby, Pebblebrook Farms Ed the Great and Rappahannock Stables Ronas. Biloxi shapes up as the favorite in the second end of the Montchanin, having won his last outing in New York by four lengths over ,500 claimers. The first division seems more open, with Top Brass considered a prospect for the favorites role.
