Wyse Enters Andromeda Bamma in Omaha Event Entry Likely Favorite; Holiday Throng of 18,149 Sets New Mark AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 1. Fred Wyse, owner and trainer of an extensive string campaigning here with marked success, appears destined to collect another top portion of a purse Wednesday in the featured sixth race, in which he has entered Bamma and Andromeda. The Wyse coupling seems assured of favortism. Beside Bamma and Andromeda, entered overnight in the main attraction are Knowable, Just Judy, Malabar, Kind Reception and Calloway K. Under allowance conditions, the issue will be decided at one mile and seventy yards for a ,575 purse, purse. Each of the Wyse colorbearers has appeared under silks twice at the current session. On opening day, Andromeda earned a place for her Almede, Texas owner when denied victory by Big Ox, who also won his next two starts. Andromeda was more ambitiously placed in her next outing, competing at the same distance as Wednesdays encounter, and registered a mild upset victory in front-running style, turning back Royal Ghost, who was narrowly beaten Monday by Butch K. Andromeda bested Royal Ghost by a pair of lengths and among others in the field, were Calloway K. and Kind Reception. Bamma just failed winning at one and a sixteenth miles in Tier first attempt -when Mintaka got up in the final stride after the former had set the pace from the start. Knowable was third, four lengths back of Bamma, and Malabar took down fourth money. Going six furlongs in her latest try, Bamma again was second, Heller taking her measure by two and a half lengths. Just Judy is the only entrant of the field not having been beaten by one or the other of the Wyse pair. Just Judy appeared Saturday in a sprint race and was far back throughout. She will probably be one of the extreme outsiders in the wagering. Mondays Memorial Day crowd of 18,149 established a new all-time record for this track. The previous record attendance was set on the same holiday in 1946 when the count was 17,422. Although the program was conducted over a muddy strip, and additional rain fell during the last three races on the card, total handle for the day was 24,916, not a record, but surpassing last years figure, which was slightly less than 00,000. The feature race, in which five horses competed at one mile and seventy yards, produced a repeat victory for Butch K., owned in partnership by Guy and Walter Shultzl Butch K., a seven-year-old gelded son of Whisk K. Sister Esther, won for the second straight year here oh this holiday, reaching the wire a short length before Royal Ghost," while the favorite, Mac, was third. Butch K., with 112 pounds aboard, was third choice and paid .20; jockey Richard Moore guiding him over the distance in 1:43, flat.
