Won driving; second and third the same. POLLY WATTS, forwardly placed from the beginning, forged to the front inside the stretch and gamely held DREAM WORLD safe. The latter displayed good speed throughout, but was unable to overtake the winner when briskly ridden through the late stages. MRS. CAESAR forged to the front at the furlong marker, but was unable to cope with the top ones when the real test came. OUR VALDINA lacked the necessary rally. ESCA LASS tired. TETU moved up boldly entering the stretch, then faltered when punished. PIEDMONT BELLE failed to stay. FILLERUP had no apparent mishap. RUM BUMBLE dropped back immediately after the start. SEPTEMBER, allowed to settle into best stride, moved up boldly on the outside to dispose of VIOLINIST inside the stretch, then held on determinedly to outgame SANCTUARY. The latter closed resolutely under brisk urging and was wearing down the winner. VIOLINIST assumed command on the final turn, shortened stride when challenged during the drive and was unable to cope with the top ones. BOOTLET tired. TEXOLA rallied too late to become an endangering factor. AGENT was through after five furlongs. SLUGGER CAIN quit. PRESTISSIMO, fractious at the post, showed nothing. BLUE HELMET appeared sore in the post parade and was through early during the running. WINGDINGER retired steadily after flashing brief speed and came back in a slightly lamed condition. SEMPER EADEM assumed a commanding advantage after obtaining the lead during the run down the backstretch, swerved repeatedly while tiring during the late stages, but retained a clear margin over NIGHT PATROL. The latter moved up menacingly nearing the final fence, shortened stride thereafter when placed to urging and was unable to overtake the leader. MOOT, slow to gain best stride, raced evenly through the late stages without mishap. INDIAN FIRE and BANNER WAVES were outrun. IMBURSED lacked speed. PATROL bobbled badly at the second and fifth jumps and faltered thereafter. MONKEY WRENCH showed nothing. MARSHLAND II. was leading the field .when he fell at the tenth obstacle. KNIGHTS HILL, sluggish early as usual, moved up with a rush leaving the final turn, but was unable to cope with the winner when the real test came. HAM HOCKS made a game bid at the furlong marker, but failed to sufficiently respond when called upon for his best effort. DAWTY, much used early, had little left. BLUE IDLE had no apparent mishap. BROOKSHIRE raced wide. KADER retired steadily from a rapid beginning. BATTLE MOUNT never was dangerous. STRATEGIC LADY, forced wide on the near turn, was unable to recover. LIBBYS FIRST responded readily after being guided to the outside for the drive and finished with good energy. BOLD IMP, a sharp factor from the start, faltered when subjected to stern punishment. RICO MAMZEL raced evenly through the stretch. BELLE REQUEST swerved while tiring during the late stages and was unable to endanger the leaders. MICHAELS ANGEL raced wide. KASTER, away fastest, outsprinted his rivals into the first turn to assume a clear early lead, continued to save ground entering the stretch and, though tiring during the late strides, had enough left to prevail over OUT POINT. The latter, slow to attain best stride, came to the outside for the drive and rapidly was wearing down the winner. BICARB went into the air at the break, remained far back during the early running, but came fast when set down for the drive and closed with good energy. DEAD DUCK, much used early, had little left. TURGUENEFF made a bold challenge on the final turn, then faltered. CORINTHIEN raced wide. NEJI, forced to take up sharply when in close quarters on the final turn, failed to recover.
