Eric Blind Has Excellent Day at ThistleDown Gate THISTLEDOWN, Warrensville, Ohio, June 2. Starter Eric Blind did an excellent job in dispatching the fields here on opening day. All starts were in perfect alignment and each of the races on the eight-race program were off at once. This is quite an accomplishment, for Blind was working with many horses that he had never had in the gate at any previous meeting. Blind is the younger brother of Eddie, who does the starting at all the tracks in, Maryland as well as Monmouth Park. In Erics early dayst around a race track, he was a good journeyman rider and "at one time rode for the late E. R. Bradley.
